Hi there, I'm funny looking person Adam Bigum. I write funny things for little people. I write funny things for big people. I also produce things for screens*, but let's focus on the writing; the thing I'm best at!
I am an experienced writer for children who specialises in comedy. I've written for many tv shows, contributed to even more writers' rooms, run writers' rooms, acted as a showrunner, a head writer, a script doctor, and a script coord. I've also written a tonne of digital content which has achieved a silly amount of success (see below).
Most importantly, I get along with everyone and love collaborating. So if your project needs a serious dose of the non-serious, then reach out and say hi.
I wrote two episodes for this upcoming preschool animation launching April 2026. a vibrant, funny, and heart-filled new preschool animated series bursting with creativity, joy, and a healthy dose of chaos.
GGSP returned to a variety format for 2025. I wrote a regular segment for every episode of the season. Each was a short animated sketch mixing video game characters with reality TV show parodies.
Wrote this 3-part online series for Life Ed Australia which helps teach Aussie school children about online safety. The series takes place over an online video call between characters as they play through a fictional video game.
GGSP has been reimagined as a narrative series for season 15. I helped develop this new series, wrote 1 episode in full and wrote the narrative segments (majority of an episode) for an additional 6 episodes.
Teaming up with Pirate Size Productions and the one and only Healthy Harold, I ideated the creative and wrote the script for this educational tool to encourage primary aged children across Australia to check in with their friends.

This short received 5.6 million views across YouTube and Tiktok. I wrote this as a stand alone concept amongst the development of another digital series. This is a short I'm fond of as it demonstrates my love of physical comedy without dialogue.
Developed a new digital series for ABC Gamer Tiktok and YouTube channels which explores the high school interactions of famous video game characters attending high school together. We only attempted the two episodes in this series before the concept was abandoned.
This run of 4 episodes were created to line-up with the release of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 video game for the Playstation 5. The first ever game to feature both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as playable characters, I decided to play off this feature by depicting the two classic heroes as housemates struggling to get along. To date, the series has achieved over 117 million views across Tiktok and YouTube with a $0 marketing spend.
Brought in late as a post production writer, I was recommended by the ABC to join this project to add my signature humour, fun and left-of-centre way of thinking. My role required me to write new dialogue for animated hosts Fizzy and Suds, two adorable little bubbles who lead the audience in discovering a wide variety of topics.
I wrote a series of 8 animations for ABC Gamer. Each episode depicts Link in his day-to-day life with a zany Legend of Zelda twist added. These hilarious mini-shorts coincided with the release of Nintendo Switch video game 'The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. These shorts were published on TikTok and YouTube and have received over 700,000 views. This was my first foray into creating digital shorts with ABC Gamer and acted as a testing ground which led to the success of the next series we worked on, 'Spider-Mates'.
I wrote 5 of 10 episodes of this edgy, fun, one-of-a-kind show. After jumping on board as producer, I was asked to continue rewriting all 10 scripts for production whilst acting as a script coordinator and showrunner.
I wrote original, short, sharp comedy content for Snapchat's own Cameo's Stories platform. As well as writing scripts I also shot-listed and coordinated with a storyboard artist that I hired for this project . Snapchat's cameo feature takes the face of a user and their most recent in-app contact and transposes those faces onto two characters within a story. These stories can be live-action, animation or comics.
My first ever project that ISN'T a comedy! Turns out it wasn't that bad too as it debuted at St Kilda Film Festival to an overwhelming reception. Adam teamed up with his good friends at Farmwalker Films to produce this one and the results were outstanding. We also uncovered talent Catherine Lillian who has won numerous Best Actor awards at numerous film festivals for her performance in Dry Fire.
Yes you read that number correctly, my team and I wrote 1,761 scripts for Snapchat in the space of 6 months (1,200 were written by myself alone). Scripts were mostly comedy, but we also delved into other genres. I cannot tell you what the scripts were for unfortunately, as this project was top secret (at least not here, in person I will spill the beans). Through this project I was lucky enough to be able to hire and work with a large number of contributing writers around Australia.
Hosted by Rove McManus, this fun New Years Eve special for all ages features live performances, video packages and culminates in an early fireworks extravaganza. I was brought on to weave a comedy narrative through the show where two young television enthusiasts get caught up in the mayhem: One is thrown into the deep end and must host the show alongside Rove, while the other must retrieve the remote that sets off the fireworks from Rove's house and return before the time runs out.
When the first COVID-19 lockdown caused the proverbial poop to hit the propeller, all ABC ME productions were either cancelled or indefinitely postponed. DNN was created as an answer to the situation; a show that could be produced completely in isolation with no members of the cast or crew ever meeting in person. I had a major hand in the development of this show: creating most characters and segments, establishing a tone and devising some segments that could be produced without hosts due to limited access to them. I was head of the 3-person writing team which produced a new 25-minute episode every week.
Wrote, directed and produced this series and even once appeared in it as a wizard! STACKED! was very fortunate to have completed production just before COVID-19 hit and we were able to polish off all episodes during lockdown. My role involved, but was not limited to: developing new segments, writing to existing formats, scheduling, coordinating crew, producing both studio and on-location shoots, marking up scripts, directing talent, overseeing edits and generally reminding other people how awesome they are.
Whilst working as a producer on STACKED! I also acted as Talent Producer and developed a number new segments for sister series, The Pack Down. Some of these segments were games and activities for the hosts to play during the livestream, but the most notable were a series of cold-open sketches which opened the show. I was lucky enough to also write and direct them.
Wrote this family friendly short film in less than 30 minutes, in bed, the night before shooting it. The Starey Bampire started ripping up the short film circuit before COVID-19 stopped it in it's tracks. We entered in the 2020 My Rode Film Competition as a last hurrah, where it took out 1st place in comedy. This little gem has raked in $125,000 in cash and prizes from a $35 budget.
